Suzanne Patterson advises that the daily reading booklets which Revd Caroline refers to on page 5 are not 'Daily Words' but 'WORD FOR TODAY'.

Revd Caroline SackleyFirst Impressions – 1st December 2013
La Chapelle Pallau.
It was a joyful morning in the West – our new Priest in Charge, Reverend Caroline Sackley gave a truly inspiring and meaningful sermon to a more numerous than normal congregation in the beautiful church at La Chapelle Pallau. The morning sun streamed through the stained glass windows and our voices lifted in praise and harmony in both song and prayer. The message was very simple ‘Get ready for the coming of the Lord.’ Not only for the Advent of His birth but also for His return. Rev.Sackley’s clear voice and spiritual guidance augers well for the future and I for one look forward to her continued fresh approach to the meaning of the bible passages. At the shared meal afterwards it was also a pleasure to meet her and those who were there were further warmed by her sunny smile and openness to all. It was also a chance to meet Bob and he added to the merriment and joviality of the occasion,
A good start for us all!

STOP PRESS

Wednesday 11th October
Geoffrey's Memorial Service

I can now confirm that details of the Memorial Service for Geoffrey are: Date: Wednesday 11th October 2017 Venue: Arcay Village Church Time: 3:00 p.m After the service Janet and her family invite you to join them for 'drinks and nibbles' in the Salle des Fetes, located about 100 metres from the Church. We look forward to welcoming as many of you as can make it. Andrew, Jim, and Bob Directions to Arcay Church Arcay is on the D19, which in turn is off the D759 Thouars to Loudun road. About 2km past the turning for our old church at Ranton if you are coming from Thouars (a right turn), or 2.5km after you have gone over the railway if you are coming from Loudun (a left turn). Follow the main road down into the village, over the railway line and bearing right at the traffic islands. Stay on this road bearing left after about 200 metres. Shortly afterwards you will see the church, with the village square before it, on your left. Turn left to face the church and left again just before it. Parking for the Salle is about 100 metres down this road on your right. Please remember that, in the interests of maintaining good relations with the residents of Arcay, parking for those attending the service should be restricted as far as is reasonably practical to the car park adjacent to the Salle; this parking extends behind the Salle and there is plenty of room.
